Managing Myopia in Practice

The prevalence of myopia is continuing to rise, and emerging evidence confirms that myopia control is a viable intervention. Since myopia is associated with sight threatening conditions, including retinal detachment and glaucoma, it is important for eye care practitioners to be able to effectively communicate the options available for managing myopia to both patients and their parents.

This lecture draws on the most recent research in the field of myopia. The management options that are available, including spectacle correction, multifocal contact lenses and orthokeratology, are discussed along with advice on how to communicate these options.
