Driving Vision and Road Safety
As Optometrists a visit to our practice may be the first indication that a patient's visual status does not meet the DVLA requirement. This presentation will discuss the communication techniques required when explaining this to the patient, their relatives and other professionals (including driving instructors, GPs and road safety officers). It will also look at professional conduct and our duty of care to the patient, considering our skills to issue the appropriate advice safely.
